"Now is not the time to procrastinate": Ukrainian IT specialist explained how to check if your passwords were leaked after the biggest leak

«Now is not the time to procrastinate. If you find yourself in these databases, change your passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and use a password manager,» urges Anastasia Dyka, Software QA Engineer at Front Pictures, in her post on LinkedIn.

The post discusses a recent massive breach of credentials that exposed billions of user records. The affected accounts included logins and passwords for Apple, Google, Facebook, VPN services, corporate systems, and even developer portals. Experts have called it the largest such breach in history.

To check whether your data has been made public, the expert recommends using three proven services:

• Have I Been Pwned is an Australian project by Troy Hunt, supported by Microsoft and used by the US, UK, and EU governments.
• DeHashed is an American service from Internet Fraud Detection LLC. It is partially free, aimed at journalists and OSINT researchers.
• IntelX (Intelligence X) is a platform from Liechtenstein and Germany, founded by security expert Peter Klepfisch.

Data breaches happen regularly, but the scale of this case is particularly critical. Combined with password reuse and the lack of 2FA, this creates serious risks to users’ online security. According to analysts, much of this database is aggregated leaks from previous years, compiled into one giant collection available on darknet forums.
